01 · The challengeChanging the use, keeping the character.
Turning an old pub into a home called for more than a decorative refresh. Substantial structural works were needed as part of the conversion, with the existing period features retained within the finished property. The aim was to create a comfortable three-bedroom home without losing the building’s distinctive character.
02 · The workFrom structure to the finishing details.
JBP’s work combined the structural conversion with the interior refurbishment. Added wooden panelling brings definition to the living spaces, while the Shaker-style kitchen provides a practical centre to the home. The completed rooms pair contemporary fittings with the texture of the older building.
03 · The resultA home with a story to tell.
Exposed timber, brickwork and fireplaces give the interiors warmth and individuality. The three bedrooms retain a sense of the original building, while the kitchen, dining space and bathrooms provide the comfort expected of a modern home. It is a residential conversion that keeps character at the heart of the finished result.
