What to sort out before work starts, and how early decisions protect the programme, budget and finish.
Read the guide →Advice on planning and running a construction project, from the JBP team in St Albans.
JBP Developments has been building across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and North London since 2015. Our directors are construction managers, and these guides share what we have learned running projects, from smaller refurbishments to listed barn conversions and new homes.
Many of the problems on a building project start before anyone is on site. A brief that leaves things out, drawings that have not been checked for buildability, or a budget set before the design is fixed can all add cost and time later. The guides explain how to avoid them, and what to ask your builder, architect or project manager at each stage.
They are written for homeowners, property investors and architects planning residential work, such as renovations, conversions or a turnkey design and build project. To see how the advice works in practice, look through our case studies. If your question is not covered here, get in touch and we will talk it through.
These guides cover the decisions that matter most on a residential project, from writing the brief and checking buildability to coordinating the whole team.
